Episode 066 – Limiting Beliefs – Part 2

In this episode of the Fit Men Movement podcast, we are picking things up where we left off with Part 1 of Limiting Beliefs. Just as a reminder, in part 1 we discussed Genetics, Exercise and Nutrition. But, today we will finish it up and focus on Mindset and Physiology and how each of those can form their own unique set of limiting beliefs. These two topics, especially mindset, lead to some interesting conversation and personal discovery between Matt and myself and we think that you’ll find a way to connect with them as well.

Limiting beliefs are those which constrain us in some way. Just by believing them, we do not think, do or say the things that they inhibit and in doing so we impoverish our lives. They are often about ourselves and our self-identity.

Quick review of the first 3

  1. Genetics: Body comp and physical changes ARE Possible in everybody, some may just need to work harder for it or take a different approach
  2. Exercise: “I Can’t Do That” approach usually means more going on than physical limits, how hard did you try? Or did you even try at all?
  3. Nutrition: Most impactful of the 3. Easy to use this as an excuse to limiting physical changes. Not enough time spent learning to understand impact

What is one of your limiting beliefs and how did you overcome it?
